lift dumpers

lift dumpers
Aerodynamic devices in the form of flat plates mounted on top of the wing and which come into operation after landing. Lift dumpers are raised by a power system. They spoil any residual lift at touchdown, avoid bouncing, and place more weight on the wheels to assist in the wheel braking effort. They are sometimes called ground spoilers but are normally referred to as spoilers.
